Mopan River Resort is an unparalleled, riverfront facility with twelve luxury cabanas and suites. The suites have full kitchen. The resort is situated on a grassy riverbank, all with wonderful water views. Add to this, the canopy of a mature coconut grove, along with avocado, mango and citrus trees, colorful tropical plants, and birds singing continuously... The whole effect is truly magical... If you are dreaming of a getaway wedding or planning to renew your vows on a special anniversary, Mopan Resort Resort is the only resort in Belize with a Registered Marriage Officer on-site!
The only access to the resort is by crossing the river on the resort's private ferry or boat, giving it a secluded atmosphere, but the cultural flavor and sleepy village life of Benque Viejo are just across the river. Mopan River Resort is a two hour drive from Belize International Airport (Belize City), and the paved Western Highway is an easy ride all the way into "Benque." This accessibility also makes it very convenient, less time consuming, and more comfortable, to visit the sights of the region from the location. Enjoy the murmur of the falls and the glimmer of the river from your shady verandah. The sparkling swimming pool offers you the option of relaxing "at home," should you wish to opt out of the day's excursions; you can also enjoy searching for toucans from atop the bird watching tower!

PLEASE NOTE: Guest is responsible ONLY for: all tour site admission fees plus Belize-Guatemala visa/border fees for Tikal tour; total estimated at US$150 per person, per week (see list below).

Xunantunich: $5.00; Caracol: $7.50; Cahal Pech (includes museum) $5.00 each; Chechem Hah Cave: $20.00; Barton Creek Cave: $5.00; Green Hills Butterfly Farm: $5.00; Belize Zoo: $7.50; Guatemalan border crossing: $18.00 (approx.--subject to changes); Tikal park entrance fee: (approx.) $20.00. TOUR NOTE: Arriving guests will reach the resort in late afternoon hours. Therefore, no tours are possible on that day. Departing guests will visit the Belize Zoo en route to Belize City. Time constraints do not permit substitutions, or additional tours, on departure day.
TRANSFER NOTE: For our arriving guests, transport leaves Belize City in mid- to late-afternoon. Because the resort is a two hour drive from International Airport / Belize City, we regret that we cannot meet international flights scheduled to arrive after 4.30 pm (3.30pm during DST). For guests wishing a 'custom' transfer with no airport delay, taxis are available at the terminal for a fare of approx. US$125, one way. Transfers are scheduled to carry all departing and arriving guests on a given date, so one may experience extra waiting time at the airport.
Departing guest's transfer leaves the resort at approx. 8.00 am; reaching Belize City by 11.00am - noon, following a stop at the Belize Zoo. For guests wishing a later departure, a taxi can also be arranged for this.
