Since its founding in 1992 the Lamanai Lodge has become known for much more than its beautiful lagoon-side setting - it has become one of Belize's premier inland destinations for those seeking something more meaningful than the standard vacation experience.
Founded in 1992, the Lamanai Field Research Center (LFRC) is a non-profit Belizean organization that promotes and supports research, education, and environmental awareness in Belize. In addition to providing the project funds, ecotourists play a major role in LFRC projects by assisting in areas such as the collection of behavioral data on the black howler monkey, assessing crocodile nest sites, or assisting with our archaeological project.
This interactive approach provides the ecotourist with the opportunity to experience field research, explore tropical ecology, and contribute to the conservation of our natural resources. The LFRC catch-phrase, "Get Involved", embodies our on-going commitment to making environmental field research a dynamic and publicly accessible facet of Belize's conservation and ecotourism movement.

Lamanai Lodge is located in one of the most unique environment in Belize. The lodge features 18 Natural, thatch-roof cabanas, each with a verandah, a private bathroom with hot & cold water, ceiling fan and 24 hours electricity. Open air restaurant and bar with a panoramic views of the lush tropical gardens, the lagoon and the jungle-blanketed Mayan ruins. This jungle lodge is located in the Orange Walk district of Northern Belize on the shore of the beautiful New River Lagoon. It is one of Belize's special places where adventure, education and leisure come together in a magical blend. This fine resort, just a few minutes from the Maya ruins at Lamanai, is rapidly becoming one of the most popular spots. Perched on a hillside overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the New River Lagoon, the Lamanai Outpost Lodge provides a jungle experience unlike any other. Adjacent to the spectacular Maya ruins of the Lamanai Archaeological Reserve.
