Visit Belize’s Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) cave:This is the most impressive caves in Belize dated back more than 2000 years ago from the classic period of the ancient Mayans. The cave is a predominantly wet cave with water levels ranging from ankle to chest height. (Ability to swim is a big plus) To reach the cave, requires a 45 minute nature hike into the jungle including three stream crossings and passes through the 6,700 acre Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve. The cave system consists of a series of chambers, ending at “The Cathedral” where sacrificial ceremonies once took place.

Whale Sharks are the gentle giants of the sea, slow filter feeding sharks they are the largest living fish species. Each year, during the full moon period in the months of March, April, May, and June there are migrations to the Gladden Spit, an area outside the reef about 25 miles east, off the coast of Placencia. The sharks migrate to the area to feed on the spawn from Mutton and Cuberra snappers and also to mate. They are very friendly and provide great excitement for divers and snorkelers alike.

The Five Sisters is a charming little jungle eco-lodge located in the scenic Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. This is the largest protected area in Belize, boasting an immense Rain Forest and natural Wildlife Sanctuary. The Five Sisters Lodge obtained it’s name from the five perfectly gushing waterfalls and the numerous crystal pools that form part of this natural wonder.
